Unemployment Rate Drops to 3.9 Percent in May 2025 But Underemployment Rate Remains High at 13.1 Percent

Underemployment continues to be a labor concern as the rate for May 2025 settles at 12.9 percent.  Year-on-year the underemployment rate rose to 13.1 percent. Meanwhile, the unemployment statistics paint a better picture as this month’s rate is recorded at 4.1 percent. Year-on-year the unemployment rate slightly declined to 3.9 percent.
