Two Security Incidents Involving Japanese Nationals

Two security incidents occurred separately on Saturday, January 24 in San Dionisio, Parañaque City and Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City involving Japanese nationals. Observed patterns and indicators show that one of the incidents may have been a targeted attack, rather than a spontaneous robbery incident. Nonetheless, PSA is of the view that there is no specific or heightened threat against Japanese nationals, and that certain personal attacks may stem from personal motives rather than nationality or ethnicity.
