As is typical, the crime patterns observed in the month of October 2019 primarily involved low level crimes, particularly crimes against property (theft and burglary). Six incidents of armed robbery were recorded this month. Of those figure, one incident each involved a Singaporean, a Korean, Chinese, American, Indonesian, and an Indian victim. Recorded incidents of murder involved one Indian national in Cebu and two Australian businessmen in Olongapo City, Zambales. Most crime incidents against foreigners recorded in October 2019 occurred between 5:00 pm and 11:00 pm and mostly involved Chinese victims.
Out of the nine kidnapping-related incidents recorded in October, three occurred in Metro Manila. Two of these incidents were debt-related abductions involving Chinese and Taiwanese victims. Meanwhile, another kidnapping recorded in Parañaque City involved the abduction and rape of a 22-year old Filipina.
