PSA recorded 15 crimes against businesspersons and establishments in September 2025. Seven of the incidents were attacks against businesspersons that resulted in their demise that took place in Manila City, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Negros Oriental, Davao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, and Basilan. Meanwhile, three robberies against businesspersons and establishments were recorded in Taguig City, Cavite, and Laguna.
During the period, PSA recorded an unusual incident involving a burglary allegedly carried out by a group of protesters who forcibly entered a motel in Manila City, ransacked the lobby, and took valuable items. The incident raised concerns about opportunistic crimes emerging during instances of civil unrest. Meanwhile, a separate robbery incident in Cavite underscored the escalating concern over increasingly organized criminal operations, targeting individuals handling and transporting significant amounts of cash.
In September 2025, the National Capital Region (NCR) accounted for the highest number of recorded incidents at six. These incidents took place in Manila City, Quezon City, and Taguig City. Other incidents during the period were recorded in Northern and Southern Luzon (Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon), Western Visayas, and parts of Mindanao (Davao Region and Bangsamoro Region).
Meanwhile, 24 smuggling and counterfeit-related incidents were reported nationwide in September 2025. The reported illegal shipments and fake products that have entered the country and were intercepted this month amounted to PHP 411.5 million (USD 7 million).
This month’s featured crime stories highlight two significant incidents: a burglary targeting a motel in Manila City and robbery against two traders in Taguig City.
