Shooting of Japanese Nationals in Malate, Manila Ruled as Targeted Attack

The shooting of two Japanese nationals in Malate, Manila on August 15 is ruled as a targeted attack with robbery as a secondary motive, according to investigating police authorities. The two arrested suspects of the attack were reportedly hired by a Japanese national from Japan to conduct the assassination for a sum of PHP 9 million (USD 157,000). One of the suspects was allegedly the driver of the said Japanese national during their stay in the Philippines.
