September 21st Protests: More than 100,000 in Attendance, Generally Peaceful with Isolated Incidents of Violence

The demonstrations on the 21st of September were generally peaceful with isolated incidents of violence, particularly in the areas of Mendiola and Ayala Bridge in Manila City. In total, more than 100,000 individuals of different political affiliations and socio-civic groups attended these protests. As expected, the protests resulted in closures of portions of major thoroughfares and traffic around the rally sites, impacting travel across the region for the day.
