2024 PHILIPPINES ANNUAL COMMUNIST INSURGENCY REPORT
PSA's 2024 Philippines Annual Communist Insurgency Report highlights the NPA's continued decline reaching its weakest point in recent history. Armed encounters remain concentrated in Negros Occidental and Northern Samar, but no significant attacks or extortion incidents against corporations were recorded in 2024. While the NPA retains some operational presence, its capacity for large-scale attacks appears severely diminished.
2024 PHILIPPINES ANNUAL ISLAMIST INSURGENCY REPORT
The 2024 Annual Islamist Insurgency Report examines the continued weakening of Islamist insurgent groups, with most violent incidents in 2024 stemming from military operations in BARMM. No significant attacks against private sector were recorded, and the operational capacity of groups like the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters and the Maute Group remains severely constrained. Criminal activity is now a more immediate concern than terrorism in affected regions.
These reports are not an exhaustive security analysis but provide insights into emerging trends and risks for businesses and individuals operating in insurgency-prone regions.
