PNP Reports Less Index Crimes in the Country, Refutes ex-President Duterte’s Claim that Crime is Increasing

The Philippine National Police (PNP) recently reported a 60 percent decrease in nationwide index crime rate for the first two years of the Marcos administration. PSA Analysts note that the recent statement has political significance, as it compares the index crime rates of the first two years of the Duterte and Marcos administrations. The statement was released a day after former President Rodrigo Duterte claimed during a congressional inquiry that crime is on the rise again in the country.
