Philippine Labor Force Situation in August 2025

The Philippines’ unemployment rate in August 2025 slightly decreased to 3.9 percent year-on-year, from 4 percent in August 2024. The month-on-month decline is more significant, coming from a three-year high of 5.3 percent in July 2025. The major month-on-month drop is attributed to the improvement of weather-sensitive jobs that were previously affected by consecutive tropical cyclones that hit the country.
