Philippine Labor Conditions Dip in July 2025 Due to Weather Disturbances, Retaining Skilled Workforce Remains a Problem

The Philippines’ unemployment rate hit a three-year high in July 2025, as it settled at 5.3 percent in July 2025 from 3.7 percent in June 2025. Year-on-year, unemployment rate also grew from 4.7 percent in July 2024. Meanwhile, the underemployment rate also rose to 14.8 percent in July 2025, from 11.4 percent in June 2025 and 12.1 percent in July 2024.
