New Committee Leaderships in the Senate Following Senator Sotto’s Election as Senate President

Following the election of Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III as the new Senate President last September 9, 2025, a new majority in the Senate was formed, leading to changes in the leadership of certain committees. The new committee chairperson assignments also reflect the change in majority and minority bloc memberships in the chamber. Although it is still early into the 20th Congress, PSA expects that certain committee leadership changes will have an effect on the crafting of legislative priorities and timelines in the Senate.
