ICC Concludes Former President Rodrigo Duterte’s Confirmation of Charges Hearing; Former Military Personnel Accuse Philippine Government of “Funding” Domestic ICC Activities

On Friday, 27th of February, the International Criminal Court (ICC) concluded its confirmation of charges hearing on the crimes against humanity cases filed against former president Rodrigo Duterte. The confirmation of charges hearing, originally scheduled for September 2025, proceeded after the ICC proved that Mr. Duterte was fit to participate in the proceedings. Mr. Duterte later waived his right to appear before the court for the confirmation of charges.
