Foreign Direct Investments Down by 23.8 Percent in the First Half of 2025

The first half of 2025 saw a 23.8 percent decrease in foreign direct investment (FDI) net inflows at USD 3.4 billion (PHP 193.80 billion) from USD 4.5 billion (USD 256.50 billion) in the same period last year. Meanwhile, most recent monthly data show that year-on-year, FDI fell by 17.8 percent to USD 376 million (PHP 21.46 billion) in June 2025 from USD 457 million (PHP 26.05 billion) in June 2024. Reports note that these trends have been largely caused by challenges in both the domestic and global environments.
