Experts Less Optimistic of Reaching GDP Government Target for 2024

The Philippine economy grew by 5.2 percent in the third quarter of 2024, due to impacts of disruptive weather disturbances on agriculture and government spending. This is slower compared to the gross domestic product (GDP) recorded for the same quarter in 2023 which stood at 6 percent. Year-to-date, this brings Philippine GDP at 5.8 percent, slightly lower than the lower-end of 6 percent government target for economic growth this year.
