CRIME IN MAKATI: Chinese National Fatally Shot While Eating in Restaurant

On Thursday, October 17, a Chinese-born national was shot dead by another Chinese citizen inside a hotpot restaurant in Makati City. Authorities are looking into several possible motives for the incident, including both personal and business-related disputes. PSA notes that crimes such as shooting incidents involving Chinese syndicates and other transnational Asian crime groups maintain a small but persistent presence in the Philippines. Nonetheless, analysts that the incident does not necessarily indicate a worsening crime situation in Metro Manila.
