At least 46 people have died and over 26 remain missing after MV Trisha Kerstin 3, a 300-passenger roll-on roll-off ferry, capsized off the waters of Zamboanga City on January 26. The Department of Transportation has ordered a full investigation and the grounding of the involved operator Aleson Shipping Line’s entire fleet, following revelations of at 32 other maritime incidents linked to the operator since 2019. The remnants of the vessel were found on February 3.
