ANALYSIS: Who Could Be the Other 2028 Presidential Candidates

Several names have been floated around in public discussions as possible candidates for the Philippine presidency following Vice President Sara Duterte’s formal declaration of her intent to run in the 2028 National Elections. PSA has collated the names of prominent politicians who have publicly addressed their plans for the 2028 elections. As of writing, candidates who did not confirm nor deny their intent to run for the country’s highest office include Senators Risa Hontiveros, Bam Aquino, and Bong Go, and Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla. PSA emphasizes that this list may change as the election draws near.
