PSA notes that this year’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) focused significantly more on people-centric issues over high-level and industry concerns. Delivered last July 28, 2025, the president’s SONA covered areas like education and labor development, health and social welfare, and agriculture, among others. Analysts note with importance how President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. started his speech: with an acknowledgement of the relatively dismal performance of the administration’s senatorial slate in the recent 2025 elections. This set the tone for the entirety of his address, which lasted a little more than an hour and predominantly delivered in Filipino.
