  • Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP)

A total of 949 cases from January 01 to November 25, 2023, were logged. There was a 13 percent increase in Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) compared to the same period last year.

Top 5 Regions with the Corresponding No. of Cases

  1. Zamboanga (Region 9): 128 cases
  2. Calabarzon (Region 4A): 108 cases
  3. Central Luzon (Region 3): 106 cases
  4. Socckscargen (Region 12): 65 cases
  5. Davao (Region 11): 60 cases

10 deaths were recorded. A majority was recorded from MIMAROPA (Region 4B), Bicol (Region 5), Eastern Visayas (Region 8), and Davao (Region 11) with 2 deaths each.

  • Diphtheria

A total of 191 cases were recorded from January 01 to November 25, 2023. There has been a 151 percent increase in Diptheria cases compared to the same period in 2022.

  1. Metro Manila: 50 cases
  2. BARMM Region: 44 cases
  3. Calabarzon (Region 4A): 25 cases
  4. Zamboanga (Region 9): 19 cases
  5. Central Luzon (Region 3): 18 cases

49 deaths have been reported. BARMM region leads with 22 deaths.

  • Reported Measles-Rubella

Measles

Measles cases reached a total of 2,497 which were recorded from January 01 to November 25, 2023. A 366 percent increase was seen in Measles cases compared to the same period covered in 2022.

Top 5 Regions with the Corresponding No. of Cases

  1. BARMM Region: 1,013 cases
  2. Central Luzon (Region 3): 313 cases
  3. Northern Mindanao (Region 10): 145 cases
  4. Metro Manila: 142 cases
  5. Calabarzon (Region 4A): 134 cases

16 deaths were recorded, with the majority stemming from the BARMM region with 11 deaths.

Rubella

Rubella cases logged 97 cases from January 01 to November 25, 2023. In comparison to the same period covered in 2022, Rubella cases increased by 64 percent.

  1. Metro Manila: 16 cases
  2. Ilocos (Region 1): 12 cases
  3. Calabarzon (Region 4A): 10 cases
  4. Eastern Visayas (Region 8), Zamboanga (Region 9), and Davao (Region 11): 7 cases each
  5. Northern Mindanao (Region 10): 6 cases

No deaths were reported during this period.

  • Neonatal Tetanus

There is a total of 125 Neonatal Tetanus recorded from January 01 to November 25, 2023. Neonatal Tetanus cases increased by 160 percent, in comparison to the same period covered in 2022.

  1. BARMM Region: 42 cases
  2. Socckscargen (Region 12): 36 cases
  3. MIMAROPA (Region 4B): 12 cases
  4. Calabarzon (Region 4A): 7 cases
  5. Central Luzon (Region 3): 6 cases

A total of 50 deaths were recorded, the majority of which came from Soccskargen with 17 deaths.

  • Non-neonatal Tetanus

1,048 Non-neonatal Tetanus cases were logged from January 01 to November 25, 2023. There has been a 30 percent increase in cases, compared to the same period in 2022.

  1. Central Luzon (Region 3): 108 cases
  2. Calabarzon (Region 4A): 105 cases
  3. Western Visayas (Region 6): 90 cases
  4. Metro Manila: 89 cases
  5. Central Visayas (Region 7): 87 cases

A total of 222 deaths were logged, where Central Luzon contributed the highest with 23 deaths.

  • Pertussis

Pertussis cases reached 670, which were recorded from January 01 to November 25, 2023. There has been a 1,575 percent increase in Pertussis cases compared to the same period in 2022.

  1. Davao (Region 11): 181 cases
  2. Soccskargen (Region 12): 126 cases
  3. Zamboanga (Region 9): 76 cases
  4. Metro Manila: 70 cases
  5. Northern Mindanao (Region 10): 56 cases

47 deaths were recorded, 15 of which came from Davao region.
