eTravel System Now Permanent for Travelers to the Philippines
September 3, 2024
The Electronic Travel (eTravel) system is now officially established as the Philippines’ central travel declaration platform, following a recent administrative order signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. This system will serve as the primary tool for the government to manage border security, monitor public health, analyze tourism data, and handle other travel-related processes.
According to Administrative Order No. 24, the funding necessary for implementing the eTravel system will be reallocated from various transportation agencies. Additionally, a technical working group has been formed to study and further develop the system.
The use of the eTravel system for travelers has been in place since December 2022, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. It replaced the One Health Pass form as a requirement for incoming international passengers to the Philippines.
